FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

ORDERING, STOCK & CUSTOMS

How do I place a surfboard order online?

Ordering a surfboard online is quick and straightforward. Simply browse our range, choose your board model, stock dimension, fin system and board colour finish, then click ‘Add to Cart.’ If you're adding surf hardware or apparel to your order, add all items to your cart first, then proceed to checkout. Enter your details and delivery address, complete your payment, and you're all set.

Once your order is confirmed, you'll receive a email outlining your order details. If you're ordering a custom board, we’ll be in touch to finalize the board design with you personally.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept all major credit and debit cards. For orders within Indonesia or Australia, local payment options like bank transfer may also be available. If you need any assistance with your payment method, drop us a message via the Live chat or Contact page and we'll help you out.

Can I pre-order my board before I arrive in Bali?

Yes! If you're coming to Bali and want a fresh new board waiting for you, place your order today before you arrive. We’ll have it built and ready, then deliver it directly to your villa, surf stay, or hotel once you check in.

To ensure your board is ready in time, we recommend placing your order at least 3 weeks before your arrival.

What’s the difference between stock and custom boards?

Stock boards are built to design specifications that Nev has refined over decades. These boards follow proven dimensions and volumes, fine-tuned for optimal all-round performance. Since stock boards follow a set design, we can start shaping and building your board right after you place your order.

Custom boards maintain the core design and performance attributes of Nev’s original shapes, but allow for adjustments to dimensions, volume and tail shape, to better suit your individual needs. Custom orders require additional communication and time to prepare a new board file before we begin shaping your board.

Both stock and custom boards are made to order—meaning your board is built specifically for you. Once your order is confirmed, the build time for all boards is approximately 2–3 weeks.

How do I order a custom surfboard?

For custom orders, start by filling out the Custom Build form. If you're after custom dimensions, we’ll arrange a consultation with Nev to design a board tailored to your style and needs. A custom design fee of AU$140 applies to cover the personalised design process and preparation of your board file.

Can I add a colour to my board?

If you're wanting to add a colour to your board, we offer the following board colour finishes for an add on cost.

Deck Colour Spray – Rp950K/AU$95 per board
Rails & Bottom Colour Spray – Rp950k/AU$95 per board
Full Board Colour Spray – Rp950K/AU$95 per board
Full Board Resin Tint – Rp1250K/AU$125 per board

The colour spray or resin tint cost will be automatically added to your order when selecting your preferred colour finish on the product page, before adding your board to the cart.

Whats the turnaround time for surfboard orders?

Every surfboard is made to order, with a build time of approximately 2–3 weeks. Once your board is complete and has passed our quality checks, we’ll deliver it directly to your villa, surf stay, or hotel. If you're traveling to Bali, we can safetly hold your order in our boardroom until you're ready for delivery.

Is there a warranty on surfboards?

Every surfboard we build is crafted to the highest quality standards and designed to perform in Indonesian wave conditions—and beyond. However, due to the nature of how surfboards are used, we do not offer a warranty for breakage, dings, or damage caused by regular use, impact, or improper care. If you believe there’s a defect in craftsmanship, please reach out to us, and we’ll assess the issue.

We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance to cover potential damage to your surfboard, as well as any injury or illness that might occur during your trip to Bali or Indonesia.

Is there a warranty on surf hardware?

Surf hardware and accessories (fins, leashes, traction pads, board covers, surf hats, reef booties, surf accessories) come with a manufacturer’s warranty. Warranty claims for surf hardware and accessories should be made directly with the brand. If you experience any issues, reach out, and we’ll assist where possible.

GENERAL INFORMATION

Where are Nev Future Shapes boards made?

Nev Future Shapes surfboards are built in our Bali-based factory, combining premium imported materials with expert craftsmanship. Each board is shaped, glassed, and finished by highly skilled board builders who have spent years mastering their craft and understanding the unique demands of Indonesian waves. Made to the highest industry standards, our boards are designed to perform in everything from heavy Indo barrels to fun, playful beach breaks—delivering the perfect balance of precision, durability and performance.

What materials do you use in your surfboards?

We use premium polyurethane (PU) and epoxy materials to create high-performance boards that deliver the ideal balance of strength, flex and durability. All materials are carefully selected to meet industry standards, from high-quality foam blanks that provide refined flex and responsiveness to durable fiberglass cloth for added strength and longevity. Each board is built with industry-leading resin systems for optimal weight and durability. All of our boards are made to the highest industry standards, ensuring the reliability and trust you need when paddling into the lineup.

How durable are Nev Future Shapes boards?

Our boards are built specifically for Indo's unique conditions, using premium imported materials and advanced glassing techniques to strike the perfect balance between strength, weight and flex. While all surfboards will naturally experience wear and tear over time, our PU and epoxy constructions are designed for durability and built to last when properly cared for.

How do I take care of my surfboard to extend its lifespan?

Caring for your board is key to preserving its quality, performance and longevity. Here are a few essential tips to keep your board in good condition:

  • Rinse your board with fresh water after every surf to remove salt buildup and sand.
  • Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight to prevent yellowing and delamination. (If you're parking in direct sunlight, remember to take your board off your scooter racks and place it in the shade).
  • Use a board cover to protect your board from dings, scratches and excessive heat.
  • Repair any dings immediately to prevent water from soaking into the foam.
  • Store your board in a cool, dry place, away from sunlight, when not in use.

By looking after your new board, you'll ensure it lasts longer, performs at its best, and reduces the risk of failure when you need it most.
